Únicla has taken another step in its policy towards protecting the environment, by adding the certification of CarbonNeutral® to its new carton. This distinction guarantees that the manufacturing process reduces its emissions to zero.
This makes it the first and only dairy company to establish this sustainable practice, whose main aim is to minimise the environmental impact of the manufacturing process of its cartons.
What does our new carton represent?
The CarbonNeutral® certification recognises that the cooperative has stopped emitting approximately 1,650 tons of CO2 which, added to the reduction of over 20% at origin by improving the digestive process of Únicla cows, make it a corporate benchmark in the fight against climate change. The Norwegian firm Elopak is exclusively in charge of the manufacture of Carbon Neutral carton.
Leche Únicla milk’s revolutionary carton
In October 2017, Únicla incorporated the new format for the Elopak Pure-Pak® Sense Aseptic carton. It was the first company for long-life dairy products in the south of Europe to adopt this new and more sustainable carton that produces zero emissions in its manufacturing process.
Advantages of the carton:
- It has highly innovative features than make it easier to use and pour, and prevents dripping.
- It contributes to the product’s recycling thanks to its practical folding system.
- It is sourced from sustainable forests, in line with Únicla’s environmental responsibility.
Therefore, it is a novel and unique format in Spain’s milk categories, ensuring a fresher and more organic product, as it is the carton par excellence for fresh products.
